That is a great first deer! by braving less than perfect conditions you were able to take your first deer. I teach newer hunters all the time that the hunter that is willing to wait it out in sometimes poor conditions will take game. You have witnessed first hand a great lesson. If you look at records of trophy whitetail deer that have been taken. You will find that alot of those deer were taken in less than perfect weather conditions and at midday hunts. Times at which most hunters do not want to be in the woods. Remember this one as it will be a valuable tool to you in the future. Great job again and congrats!
